Seafair 2014

Had just gotten home from walking Petey (lots of time to walk the pack since I'm out of work), when I heard a familiar rumble. Stepped out onto the lower deck in time to see a C-130 and first one, then a second Sea Stallion approaching from the east.

Ran ouside and to the street just in time to catch them circling back, even closer to the house, so with no time to run in and get my real camera, I whipped out my ancient cell phone and snapped a couple of quick photos using the crappy camera on it (that's how close they were).

This is about the best of the half dozen I got and the closest they got to the house. You can even make out the refueling lines extending out from the wings (like I said, REALLY close for my crappy camera phone to pick up the detail).

Paula arrived with her binos, so we could check out a couple of other birds off in the distance and we determined they were V22 Ospreys, but they never got close to the house.

All in all, a couple of A4 Skyhawks, or maybe T-45s--I didn't have the binos at the time and they were a ways out), probably as chase/camera planes, four of the six Blue Angels, the free refueling demo with the Herc and the two Sea Stallions, and the two Ospreys--not bad for a free airshow...
